ABOUT N'HIRO THA BLACQ DOGG

N’hiro tha Blacq Dogg is a magnetic hybrid of Hip-Hop and R&B, armed with a voice that channels the soulful grit of Johnny Gill, the velvet fire of Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris, and the raw passion of DMX. Born in Dallas, TX, and raised in Louisville, KY, N’hiro (pronounced NEER-oh) began shaping his sound at age 4 in church choirs, where his sultry, raspy baritone first took root. By age 11, he was writing and blending his own Contemporary Gospel songs with rap verses; by 14, he was transmuting classroom poems into R&B anthems, forging a style that merges streetwise, charismatic lyricism with Sunday-morning reverence.

Dubbing himself “tha Blacq Dogg” (a tribute to his favorite color and spirit animal), N’hiro drew inspiration from the harmonies of the aforementioned Boyz II Men, the intensity of Miss Lauryn Hill, and the unshakable faith and artistry of Kirk Franklin. His voice—a blend of thunder and silk—became his weapon, earning him stages across Louisville’s talent shows. But a May 2001 Source magazine interview with Wendy Day shifted his trajectory: N’hiro devoured music-business literature, launched his first music publishing company at 18, and paired his artistry with a CEO’s mindset.

After earning a B. A. degree in Communications (Univ. of Louisville) and a M. S. degree in Entertainment Business (Full Sail Univ.), N’hiro hustled as a videographer, radio personality, graphic designer, and more—all to fund his mission. Now based in Nashville, TN, he runs BLXRD Music Group, his independent label, where he crafts music that defies boxes and collapses stone cold glass ceilings.

With singles like “NEW HOTTNESS” and “What the Game Needs,” N’hiro tha Blacq Dogg isn’t just filling a gap in the game—he’s the missing link.
